Client Assessment: The Missing Link / 1-day course in New York City

13 June, 2015 @ 9:30 am - 5:30 pm UTC+0

$175
  • The TCM system (through acupuncture, bodywork or herbs) is based on reading signs and symptoms and performing techniques (such as finding and connecting with a meridian) that require a degree of intuitive development.

Although Swedish Massage and other Western techniques do not include intuition in their body of theory, if your work is not purely mechanical, intuition will play a big part in guiding some of your decisions in the way you tailor a session, too. When you choose a specific technique, rhythm or depth, you probably have in mind an idea of who the person is and what they need, beyond the complaint they may express verbally.

In this seminar we’ll explore how intuition works in evaluation and treatment, how you can enhance it and how you can better organize the intuitive information to design a massage or acupuncture session.

Plus, you’ll be able to consciously express what you did and why you did it so you and your client have a clearer picture of what came up and what was achieved during the session. This will not only improve your evaluation of what’s going on and your technique to do something about it, but also increase the understanding the client will have of your work.

This seminar is also open to acupuncturists and other healthcare professionals. Please bring a map showing your modality’s system, if you have one (meridian chart, reflexology chart, chakras, etc.).
